Vishwaguruji’s Gift for the Future: Swami Avatar Puriji
The Fulfilment of Vishwaguruji’s Prayer
For many years, Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Sri Swami Maheshwaranandaji, Vishwaguruji, prayed to Sri Deep Narayan Mahaprabhuji, Sri Devpuriji and Divine Mother Chandandeviji, for the opportunity to guide a disciple from early childhood in accordance with Vedic culture, traditions, and the teachings of the OM Sri Alakhpuriji Siddha Peeth Parampara. In 1999, his prayers were answered. A message was sent to all Yoga in Daily Life centres announcing that Vishwaguruji had adopted a newborn child as Manas Putra.
Born on 18 December 1999, in the sacred hour of Brahmamurta in Jodhpur, the infant was recognised as a blessed soul sent by Sri Devpuriji and Sri Mahaprabhuji. With the blessing of Holy Guruji, the child was brought to OM Vishwa Deep Gurukul Swami Maheshwarananda Ashram Education & Research Centre in Jadan.
In a beautiful ceremony held at the Shiva Temple of the ashram, in the divine presence of Vishwaguruji, a pandit invited especially for this occasion, named the child Avatar, based on the nakshatra (lunar constellation) of the natal moon in his birth chart. Devotees from around the world gathered to witness this sacred event. Holy Guruji had often said, “There are tons of crows, but not the swan. The swan is a different Soul, a different Atma.” From his earliest days, it was clear that the child carried a rare and divine presence.
On 2 November 2013, Avatar Puriji received sannyas diksha under the shelter of Vishwaguruji and became the youngest swami of the OM Sri Alakhpuriji Siddha Peeth Parampara.
Sankalp Putra - The Son of a Sacred Resolve
In July 2017, in Vishwa Guru Deep Ashram in Jaipur, Vishwaguruji shared:
“Light is coming, that Divya Atma, Divine Soul, Enlightened Soul. Free from all karmas, free from birth and death. They can come, they can go. No one is forever here. They will go and come in different forms. I was thinking, I am not in India, I’m in Europe, I’m here-there, how will Sanatana survive, and Guruji came, and now I announce it openly, today… it was Avatar. That is called Gyan Putra, Sankalpa Putra, Manas Putra.”
Education and Spiritual Formation
Growing up in the ashram, Swami Avatar Puriji received his foundational education at Shree Vishwa Deep Gurukul Prathmik Vidyalaya, Yoga in Daily Life's primary school in Rajasthan, India. He continued his studies at Sarala Birla Academy in Bangalore and studied Sanskrit and Indian philosophy under the guidance of Nirvan Peethadishwar Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Vishokanand Bharti Ji, the head of the Mahanirvani Akhara.
Throughout his childhood, Swami Avatar Puriji lived in the presence of great spiritual and divine souls, including Baba Ramdev. These formative years deepened his understanding of the spiritual traditions, philosophies and disciplines of Sat Sanatan Dharma.
Formal Appointment as Successor
On 10 November 2021, at the Sri Alakhpuriji Siddha Peeth Parampara Ashram in Bari Khatu, Nagaur District, Rajasthan, near the village of Khachras, Vishwaguruji formally appointed Swami Avatar Puriji as his successor. The sacred event was marked by traditional Vedic ceremonies, including a special puja, abhisheka, a holy fire ceremony, and the revered Guru Charan Puja, a ritual of deepest devotion symbolising the disciple’s surrender at the feet of the guru.
The ceremony was blessed by the esteemed presence of Mahamandaleshwar Atmanand Puri Ji, Mahamandaleshwar Swami Chidambaranand Saraswati Ji, Mahamandaleshwar Swami Gyaneshwar Puri Ji, Swami Premanandji, Swami Jogesh Puriji, Swami Phul Puriji (who later became Mahamandaleshwar), Swami Rajendra Puriji, Swami Uma Puriji and Manfred Stepponat (Mansukram), President of the Yoga in Daily Life Fellowship, along with other distinguished guests.
A Teacher for the New Generation
By Vishwaguruji’s wish, Swami Avatar Puriji accompanied him on many satsangs and Yoga in Daily Life retreats, both in India and internationally.
On the auspicious day of 30 May 2025, a deeply significant spiritual event took place in Vienna, Austria, when Vishwaguruji entrusted his personal rudraksha mala to his successor, Swami Avatar Puriji – a sacred mala given to Vishwaguruji by Holy Guruji himself. This gesture symbolised profound trust and the transmission of responsibility for carrying forward the light of Yoga in Daily Life and the ancient wisdom of the OM Sri Alakhpuriji Siddha Peeth Parampara.
As Vishwaguruji chose to remain more peacefully in India, Swami Avatar Puriji began travelling the world to continue this divine work.
Joyful Testimonies from Yoga in Daily Life Summer Retreat
The devotees of Yoga in Daily Life feel deep gratitude and joy, recognising the grace behind Vishwaguruji’s choice. Participants of the 2025 Yoga in Daily Life Summer Retreat described the gathering as joyful, filled with wisdom, friendship and a strong sense of Vishwaguruji’s inner presence and support. Swami Avatar Puriji’s teachings, clarity, humility and radiant energy left a lasting impression. His youth was not seen as a limitation; rather, participants felt they were in the presence of an eternal soul in a young body.
Swami Avatar Puriji showed his complete dedication to bringing Vishwaguruji closer to the devotees – through satsangs, which remind them that although Vishwaguruji may be physically distant, his presence is ever-pervading; through beautiful meditations that lead them to the divine lotus feet of the Master; and through Yoga Nidra practices that deepen their inner connection with their beloved Vishwaguruji.
He spent time with each person, offering guidance and compassion. Particularly moving was his commitment to the younger generation. He explained that adults were already firmly connected to Vishwaguruji, while children and youth still needed nurturing to establish their spiritual foundation.
Under his initiative, children and youngsters were encouraged to learn and sing bhajans, practice karma yoga, and participate in meaningful activities. Festivals and anniversaries were celebrated with lively stage performances in which Swami Avatar Puriji himself sometimes participated. A weekly bonfire and kirtan satsang, also his innovation, became one of the most cherished experiences of the retreat.
Choosing His Dharma
During the retreat, Swami Avatar Puriji shared a personal moment from his life, when Vishwaguruji offered him the freedom to choose his future path. He chose his dharma, the path of serving Vishwaguruji and all humanity without prejudice, beyond divisions of race, social status, or religion, and to guide people toward the real purpose of human life.
Looking Toward the Future
With unwavering faith in his disciple, Vishwaguruji has entrusted Swami Avatar Puriji with the mission of carrying forward the divine light of Yoga in Daily Life and the ancient wisdom of the Sri Alakhpuriji Siddha Peeth Parampara. The growing joy, confidence and inspiration felt by devotees across the world, affirms that this trust is well-placed.
A new chapter has begun, rooted in tradition, full of youthful energy, wisdom and compassion. Swami Avatar Puriji stands as Vishwaguruji’s gift for the future, continuing the sacred lineage and guiding humanity on the path of light, harmony, and self-realisation.
